Knife Sentence Film News22/02/2016 |
In 2013, a team of young people from the town created a film to reach young people and open discussions about the devastating affects on individuals and families of knife crime. Luton Neighbourhood Watch want to bring this film to a yet wider audience and have a copy available for members. See below article from the Luton Today Website
The project was part of the Prince’s Trust programme, for which the Luton students were tasked with making something sustainable for the community. Assistant team leader Tamanna Sidika said: “The premiere event was very successful with around 170 people attending. My students spent several weeks working extra hard on the video, planning, fundraising and executing the filming.” The team worked alongside Clear Head Media to produce the film, and spent five days fundraising at local supermarkets, raising £3,041 which included a grant from Crimebeat. The film is aimed at 12 to 16 year olds and the group hope it will be shown at schools and community centres to deter young people from getting involved in a life of crime. |
