Information sent on behalf of Neighbourhood Watch

Thank you to everyone who has come forward to volunteer their time and get involved with the West Midlands Neighbourhood Watch Force Area Association (WMNWFAA). All new volunteers will be invited to an online meeting, which will be scheduled for a weekday evening sometime over the next few weeks. This will give you an opportunity to ask the Board any questions you may have.

We are looking for volunteers who can take on the following roles and responsibilities:
    • Area liaison for individual Neighbourhood Policing Unit (NPU) districts across the West Midlands. Please note, that whilst we work in partnership with many organisations including West Midlands Police, Neighbourhood Watch is completely independent from the police. However, geographically we have adopted the NPU boundaries to help us administer the West Midlands region.
    • Multi Scheme Administrators (MSAs) to help administer and develop the Neighbourhood Alerts West Midlands database. Some formal training, for example GDPR training, is required for this role.
    • Helping to develop policies and procedures at Board and Force Area level.
    • Helping to deliver projects that will support our local communities, based on requests the Board have received.
All volunteers should be able to contribute a minimum of one hour per week.

Some roles may require specific skills, for example, computer work. However, if you do not currently have the necessary skills, then the opportunity for you to learn will be available.

Whilst representing WMNWFAA, you may need to engage with the public and work with other organisations. You may need to handle confidential and/or sensitive information.

There are currently Active Citizens Networks and projects running in Birmingham, Coventry, Sandwell and Walsall.

If you haven't contacted us yet, get involved today

As a Neighbourhood Watch Force Area Association, we are always looking for dedicated individuals to volunteer their time and skills. There are many ways you can get involved and you may find the experience rewarding and beneficial. For example, some people choose volunteer roles to help them learn new skills and enhance their CV.

If you are interested or you represent an organisation that may be interested in getting involved, please contact us via e-mail at enquiries@wmacf.org.uk.

Please share this information with others in your network.
