Manvers Lake - youths swimming

Please be aware that police have had to speak to a large number of youths this evening who were swimming in Manvers Lake, some even had inflatables!
We spoke with as many youths as possible due to the dangers of open water swimming. They stated they knew the risks but many laughed them off. I am sure you are aware of the relatively recent losses of young lives in open water and we definitely do not want another life lost when so easily prevented.
Can we please respectfully ask you speak with your children and remind them of the dangers. Fire service have attended local schools to engage with the youths too so there is no excuse.
