Police and council host conference to prepare hotels for summer

Dorset Police and BCP Council are preparing for summer by inviting hotel supervisors and managers to the Dorset Police Hotel Watch Conference 2022.

Dorset Police is working with BCP council to deliver training to hotels and other accommodation businesses like guest houses and B&Bs, to help safeguard staff and guests, in preparation for the summer visitors.

On average the county has over 25 million annual visitors for day trips, with nearly 4 million visitors staying in the county for short breaks or holidays.

With this increase in visitors, it is important Dorset Police works with accommodation businesses to help staff know how to spot the signs of crime and know how to report it.

The conference will host talks around issues such as Child Sexual Exploitation, cybercrime, and modern day slavery, as well as deliver information on Hotel Watch and how it can support accommodation businesses in the area.
