Information sent on behalf of West Mids Police

    Dear Residents,

Here is a brief update of what’s been happening on Ettingshall, Blakenhall and Springvale over the last week.

    PCSO’s visit local schools,
We are now back visiting local schools to deliver workshops on various subjects. This week we visited Bilston C&E School to delivery workshops for our Junior PCSO program. This week’s session was the opportunity for the students to practice the phonetic alphabet. The students were GOLF ROMEO ECHO ALPHA TANGO.

    Nation Firearms Surrender.
There's a national firearm surrender running from 12th to 29th May, giving people the chance to dispose of a gun or ammunition, by handing them over at one of our police stations.
Anyone can do this anonymously; you don't need to tell us who you are.
So, if you have an unused shotgun or antique firearms, maybe a World War relic gathering dust in the loft, a stun gun or pepper spray, you can take advantage of the surrender and hand them in at a local Police station.
If you need to know more about how to hand in items, visit the West Midlands Police website for more information.

    Arrests & any other business.
Officers have recovered 3 stolen vehicles and seized the following: 3 for no insurance, 2 for no tax. Across the ward there have been 4 burglaries and 1 attempted burglary.

    Vehicle Crime.
We have had 2 reported thefts of motor vehicle, Millfields Road and Hackett Close.

    Operation Sceptre.
As part of Operation Sceptre, Neighbourhood Officers will be conducting Knife sweeps across open spaces & parks in Ettingshall, Blakenhall & Springvale.

    Cannabis Factory.
Acting on intelligence received from the local community, Officers attended an address in Ettingshall where evidence of a former cannabis farm was found. No live plants were found as it had already been cleared out during a suspected break in, however the equipment was still in place and was disconnected from mains electricity. All other equipment was also dismantled and the property was secured.

Park off Lower Villiers/Baggot St, Blakenhall.
We have received reports of a homeless male urinating around the children’s play area on the playland adjacent to Lower Villiers St. Officers attended and arrested the male and the area was sanitised by a cleaning crew from Wolverhampton City Council. In light of this information, we will increase patrols still further, but would ask all our residents to be particularly vigilant & report anyone behaving suspiciously to us immediately.
