Image appeal following assault in Bournemouth town centre

Officers investigating an assault on a man in Bournemouth town centre are issuing an image of the suspect.

At around 1.30am on Friday 14 January 2022 the victim, a local man aged in his 20s, was in Old Christchurch Road near to Taka Taka when he was approached by two men, one of which asked for a cigarette.

A disagreement between the victim and suspect occurred and it is reported the victim was punched in the face.

He sustained injuries to his face, which required stitches.

The suspect is described as white, aged in his early 20s, around six feet four inches tall and was wearing blue trousers, a black coat and trainers.

Police Constable Josh Hurwood, of Bournemouth police, said: “During the incident the victim managed to film the suspect and I am issuing a still image from this video in the hope that someone may recognise him. I would ask anyone who knows who this man is to please contact Dorset Police.”
