    Alert message sent 17/01/2022 11:58:00

Information sent on behalf of Cheshire Constabulary

There has recently been an increase in the theft of pedal cycles within the Ellesmere Port area.
Many of these bikes had been left secure but the offenders have managed to remove the locks.

We advise that when out and about you lock up your bike:
    •           Use a substantial lock such as a D-Bar lock.  This will not guarantee that thieves will be unable to remove it but it will be a more time consuming.
    •           Do not secure it in a place hidden out of view.  Passing public can put off thieves seeing what they are up too.
    •           It is also a good visible deterrent.

We regularly hold marking events to provide cycle security advice and offer FREE security marking.

Registering your bike helps police and retailers identify and verify the legitimate owner of bikes that have been stolen and are being resold.

📆 We will be setting up a number of bike marking events in the very near future and will keep you updated regarding Dates/Times/Venue.
