  • Operation Sceptre knife crime

    Alert message sent 18/11/2021 08:20:00

Information sent on behalf of Notts Police

This week, local beat teams in Broxtowe North will be focusing our efforts on Op Sceptre as part of a national campaign which aims to reduce the number of knives being carried on our streets.

Operation Sceptre is just a snapshot of the ongoing year-round work being carried out to combat knife crime in Nottinghamshire which involves police, partners and local communities all working together.

This campaign has been running since Monday 15 November and will finish at midnight on Sunday 21 November 2021.

Beat officers from Eastwood police station will be going into primary schools across our area delivering Knife Crime presentations to year 6 children.

Officers will also be patrolling parks and using a metal detector to look for any weapons that may have been hidden.

The force continues to work closely with partner agencies, as well as proactively engaging with local communities, to tackle knife crime as part of a collective
Nottinghamshire response. It’s not just a Nottinghamshire Police issue.
We need people to keep giving us information about knife crime in their areas so we can help keep them safe. We all need to work together to combat knife crime and we would urge anyone with information on knife crime in their local community to call Nottinghamshire Police on 101, or Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111. In an emergency, always dial 999.
