Tandridge Country Watch Newsletter
Bulletin No: 02
21 October 2021
Dear Country Watch Members,
The Tandridge Safer Neighbourhood Team have been working very hard towards improving the police response to rural matters as well as building strong and successful relationships within the rural community. Whilst elements of rural crime are clearly seasonal such as poaching we recognise that rural crime is wide ranging and is a continuous cycle linking at times with other criminal activity such as criminal damage, burglary and theft.
Kerrie Furlong is the new appointed rural crime PCSO at Tandridge and she can be contacted on the following email address Kerrie.Furlong@surrey.pnn.police.uk
The wider team at Tandridge have recently received rural crime training and there has been an uplift in training around off road 4x4 capability.
Tandridge had the greatest portion of responses across the county following the August rural crime survey, strengthening the fact that this is a priority for our borough. Your views on how we tackle rural crime are important to us and I would like to encourage the community to continue reporting crime to the police.
Officers from the safer neighbourhood team had a meeting last week with local Gamekeepers to discuss expectations and ways on working together as move into the poaching season. I am pleased to update that officers from the local neighbourhood team have now been dedicated to rural crime patrols at peaks times and this will be reviewed again in December.
Your continued support is greatly appreciated – thank you
pp. Karen Hughes
Tandridge Safer Neighbourhood Inspector
