I am sorry for the lack of news over the last few months, this was caused because I was banished from using Police premises due to the Corona Virus. Well I am now back and looking forward to messaging you all again each week.
Reported loose animals on the highway this week is 102, this is made up with 100 Sheep and 2 Horses.
Please keep check your boundary hedges and fences, to include
Roads and Railways, at least twice each day.
REPORTED ITEMS STOLEN AND DAMAGED THIS WEEK
4 x Bush Cutters, 7 x Chainsaws, 2 x Leaf Blowers, 2 x Hedge Cutters,
1 x Long Reach Hedge Cutter, 1 x Strong Box, 1 x GPS System,
1 x Off Road Motorbike, 2 x Quad Bikes, 1 x 4wd Mule,
1 x Jet Wash and damaged caused to property.
Total known value £57,750.00.
POACHING & HARE COURSING
We are still receiving many calls each week concerning Poaching and/or Hare Coursing, far too many to report on without getting boring, Anyone who suspects illegal poaching or hare coursing is taking place, please call Sussex Police on 101 or 999 in an emergency, i.e. poaching or hare coursing is occurring in front of you there and then.
YOUR HELP REQUIRED PLEASE
Sussex Police rely heavily on people like you to advise them of any suspect vehicle hanging around of entering your property. Please, if you see any such vehicle contact the police on the non-emergency number 101 with as much information as possible. This includes date and time, where and a good description of the vehicle including the reg no and of any people. Please do not put yourself in any danger but if possible take a photograph. By suppling this information, it puts a vehicle in a location at a certain time, this could help us if a crime takes place in your locality around that time.

Monday 06th September 2021 to Sunday 12th September 2021
A dog chased and attacked a sheep in a field in Coombes, Lancing. The owner managed to catch it and has agreed to pay any damages.
A farm in Steyning Road Shoreham by Sea was entered overnight and a shipping container was broken into. A number of tools were stolen, these include 4 x Stihl Bush cutters, 6 x Stihl Chainsaws, 1 x Stihl Leaf Blower, 1 x Stihl Hedge Cutter, 1 x Stihl long reach Hedge Cutter and 1 x Strong Box that the tools were stored in. Total cost including a damaged lock £6,650.00.
HERATAGE There have been reports of night hawking with metal detectors in a restricted place in the Worthing
HERITAGE A bundle of papers were ignited in the porch to St Mary’s Church in Church Lane, Walberton, Arundel. Fortunately the only damage is that it has stained the stonework.
An unsuccessful attempt was made to steal a Land Rover from outside premises in Littlehampton. This vehicle has been stolen previously.
Outbuildings to a farm in Houghton, Arundel were forcefully entered and tools valued at £5,000.00 were stolen.
Brighton & Hove
Premises in Chichester Road Chichester were entered and an outbuilding broken into. A vehicle was forcefully entered causing £5,000.00 of damage to it and the GPS satellite system used on earth moving equipment was stolen. GPS valued at £30,000,
An outbuilding to a farm in House Lane Pulborough has been entered and a Honda 4WD Quad bike was stolen, VIN 478TE25U11AQ101316. Engine number 3066021TE25E.
A farm in Stane Street, Pulborough has been forcefully entered and a 4 wheel drive Mule together with a jet wash were stolen. Valued at £4,000.00.
2 dogs were captured on land off Handcross Road, Haywards Heath attacking sheep. Sadly 6 sheep died in the attack. The owners of the dogs have been identified. Police enquiries are ongoing.
A farmer from East Guldeford, Rye found one of his 4 ½ month old lambs had been mauled so called in the vet. The vet examined and found multiple lacerations and that the gluteal muscles had been totally torn out. Sadly it had to be euthanised. Value £100.00.
An outbuilding to a farm in Penhurst Lane Battle was broken into, nothing was stolen.
A farm in Ashburnham has been broken into overnight and various items have been stolen, these include 1 x Quadbike, 1 x Polaris Off-road motorbike, 1 x Leaf blower, 1 x Hedge strimmer and 1 x Chainsaw. Estimated Value £5,000.00.
HERATAGE Suspected metal thieves were disturbed on the roof of the 13th Century grade 1 listed Church of St Nicholas in Pevensey.
