Good afternoon Citizen ,

We have had a report of theft from a vehicle on Monday the 22nd of February 2021 at 16:54 on Barn Lane.

Offender/s have approached a black Volkswagon Saloon which was parked on the road outside the victims house. Unfortunately the car window was left open with a handbag inside which the offender/s was able to then steal.

Officers will be in the area speaking to local residents and checking for any CCTV footage.If you have any information relating to this incident please use west midlands live chat or call 101and quote crime reference number 20SH/51830G/21.

Keeping your vehicle safe

Check with your main dealer that - regardless of the age of the vehicle - it has had all its recalls completed and software updated.

When parking, always choose a well-lit location with natural or electronic surveillance. Use a car park, whenever possible, which has been awarded the ‘Park Mark’.
At home, if you have a garage, use it. Consider installing security lights or CCTV to improve the deterrent.
Wherever you park try to park where it is well lit and covered by natural or electronic surveillance.
