    Meanwhile, here is our weekly summary of offences and incidents affecting your community, reported to police during the period 6th to 12th January:

     
    Houghton Road - Friday night, 8th Jan – Police arrested a driver who initially failed to stop when requested after being seen driving at 50 mph in a 30 mph area. The driver was charged with driving whilst disqualified and having no valid insurance, as well as a breach of Covid-19 regulations due to the circumstances of the car being taken without consent. (Ref CC-08012021-0521)

     
    Harding Way – Overnight Fri 8th / Sat 9th Jan – Thieves stole catalytic converters from three cars left parked on the forecourt of a business unit after interfering with security equipment. (Ref 35/1531/21)

     
    Harding Way – Overnight Fri 8th / Sat 9th Jan – A second business on Harding Way was targeted by thieves who stole the catalytic converter from a car left parked outside. (Ref 35/1554/21)

     
    Needingworth Road – Sat 9th Jan, 9:00 pm – Police arrested a suspect after a car that was reported stolen from Brampton crashed through a fence and ended up sideways in a ditch on Needingworth Road on Saturday night. The driver fled the scene but police, who were concerned for his well-being, located him and arrested him for the theft and the driving offence. (Ref CC-09012021-0437)
     
     
    Potential Breaches of Covid-19 Regulations :
     
    Police have continued to respond to reports of potential breaches of the Covid-19 Regulations this week, including:

     
    • a café reported to be serving customers inside – Council notified after police carried out a check (Ref CC-06012021-0161);
     
    • reported gatherings of several people at houses – no breaches identified (Refs CC-10012021-0309 and CC-09012021-0380)
     
    • a fast-food restaurant – checked by police and no breach identified (Ref CC-06012021-0220)
     
    • a public house – checked by police and no breach identified (Ref CC-08012021-0241)
     
    • a gathering of people playing football at a recreation facility – all had left when police arrived to check (Ref CC-09012021-0196)
     
    • regular gatherings of people at The Quay – for Neighbourhood Policing Team to be aware. (Ref CC-12012021-0149)
