Between the hours of 23:00 on Sunday 7th April 2019 & 06:00 on Monday 8th April; we had two unfortunate circumstances whereby two cars were stolen from one property and a motorbike was stolen from another property, both on St. Simon's Close, Barrack's Estate, Sutton Coldfield.
It appears that entry was made into the property from which the car keys were taken, via means of lock snapping of a UPVC conservatory door. Car keys for both vehicles were taken and undesirables made off in the vehicles: GREY SEAT IBIZA, NU17 WUK and BLUE SEAT LEON, KR67 YLY.
The property from which the motorbike was stolen, was not accessed by undesirables. The motorbike was stolen from the front driveway: BLACK HONDA 600 MOTORCYCLE, GL11 XDJ.
If anyone happened to see or hear anything; please do let us know by responding to this message.
Also in both cases again, an attempt has been made to snap the lock on the property door to gain entry. Because it is such a common method of entry, it is important that you consider looking into 'Anti Snap Locks'
Below is a picture of what an Anti-Snap Euro-Cylinder Lock appears like, and on the right is an attacked 'Standard Cylinder' Lock.
UPVC doors or doors with Euro Cylinders should have DHF TS007 3 Star or Sold Secure Diamond Standard Anti-Bump replacement cylinders fitted. Always consult a Master Locksmiths Association accredited locksmith if you are unsure. Badly fitted Euro Cylinders can compromise your security.
