Information sent on behalf of Slough Council

Budding entrepreneurs enjoyed a kick start to their new year with the PopUp Business School at The Curve.

What if you could learn to be your own boss and make money doing something you love?

The free 10 day Pop Up Business School taught local entrepreneurs how to do just that.

    Topics included:
    • how to start a business with no money
    • build a website for free
    • get to the top of Google
    • find customers on social media
    • get the confidence to start
    • tax, company setup and the legal stuff
    • how to make money doing what you love.

The feedback from participants has been overwhelmingly positive:

“Thank you so much to the team for such an amazing two weeks! It really has been life changing! I feel I now have the ideas, the confidence and the knowledge to pursue a dream. I know everyone lucky enough to have been on this course has felt the same, so a massive ‘thank you’ to Slough Borough Council for enabling us to have this totally awesome experience!”

“Just wanted to say a MASSIVE thank you to the Pop Up Business School and Slough Borough Council for one of the best courses I’ve ever attended. I would recommend it to every entrepreneur.”

“I would like to thank you and your team for doing such a fantastic job. Life long learning is so important and the way you and your team delivered this course was above and beyond what I had expected.”

Councillor Shabnum Sadiq, whose cabinet portfolio includes lifelong learning, said: “We are committed to investing in the local community's quality of life and future.

“It was great to join the Pop Up Business School who delivered this two week business course, funded by Slough Borough Council, to 90 people. I'm looking forward to seeing these local gems expand their businesses in Slough.”

The course ran from 21 January –1 February.
